"Infinitely" valuable?

Interesting piece in the New York Times about the history of a Wikipedia entry, and the effort to preserve that entire history.

This passage struck me, especially in light of some of your comments about archives and the tension between storing everything and making decisions about what's of value:

"And for the first time in history, we’re building a system that, perhaps only for a brief time but certainly for the moment, is capable of recording every single one of those infinitely valuable pieces of information. Everything should have a history button." (emphasis added)

Surely we have to take the claim that each edit of a Wikipedia is "infinitely valuable" as hyperbole. Don't we?

You'll want to consider this if your group does its project on Wikipedia.
